The objective of the Sequence Game is to create five connected markers belonging to your team in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line.

When playing with two teams, the first team to complete two separate sequences wins the game. However, when three teams are playing, completing one sequence is enough to claim victory.

The four corner spaces are free for every player.

These corners often become key strategic positions and can change the outcome of the game.

🃏 How to Play the Sequence Game

The game begins after every player receives their starting hand. The number of cards dealt depends on the total number of players participating in the game.

The player sitting to the dealer’s left takes the first turn, and play then continues clockwise around the table.

During each turn, a player chooses one card from their hand and places it in the discard pile.

They then place one of their team’s markers on the matching space on the board.

After placing a marker, the player immediately draws a replacement card so they always maintain the same number of cards in their hand.

If a player forgets to draw a replacement card before the next player’s turn begins, they lose the opportunity to draw and must continue the game with fewer cards. This mistake can create a significant disadvantage during the remainder of the match.

Jack cards add another layer of strategy to the Sequence Game.

Jack cards do not appear on the game board.

Instead, they provide powerful special abilities that can completely change the game.

Sometimes a player may hold a card that no longer has any available position on the board because both matching spaces are already occupied by markers. This card becomes a Dead Card.

When this happens, the player may declare the Dead Card during their turn, discard it, and immediately draw a replacement card before continuing play. However, this action may only be performed once during that turn.
